Honor Academy is a place for all to learn, grow and excel through an academic experience like no other. We offer each student a unique journey to help grow their social, emotional and cognitive skills and to develop and flourish over time. We serve children from all walks of life and learning caabilities

We are a leader in tailored approaches to learning and creating an environment where each student can achieve success. Many of our pupils have complex needs, which is why each student has an Individualized Learning Plan (ILP) to help each student reach their maximum potential. We have a low teacher-to-student ratio, individualized instruction and multi-sensory learning approaches to help each student excel.
Our approach is to ensure that the teaching is personalised to meet the needs of our pupils with a wide range of on practical real life experiences to make the learning relevant, fun and engaging. Our staff are imaginative and creative and have the freedom to try different approaches. Our aim is for the children to be happy, confident, independent learners and for them to love coming to school!

We have a “can do” approach to learning and achieving whilst providing an exciting and enriching curriculum that meets the individual needs of our pupils. Our focus is to provide them with the life skills and knowledge they need to prepare them for life beyond their time at Honor Academy. We value the uniqueness of each child and take great pride in celebrating all their achievements both inside and outside the school.
Some learning is facilitated through play or sensory activities and we place great emphasis on the arts, PE, music as well as curriculum based learning. The children participate in a wide range of activities, from music therapy to Lego therapy along with our speech and language therapists who work with the children and staff, offering training and advice on a regular basis.
Our expectation is that students thrive, through a customized balance of academic and non-curricular activities, along with learning to respect each other and have positive attitudes about themselves. We help support each child with their emotional, cognitive and social development, helping them foster positive relationships whilst developing emotional and cognitive strength.
We recognize that not every child learns in the same way, which is why our teachers our flexible yet focused; adaptive and yet goal oriented. We further focus on Executive Function and Social Skills Training both during school and in after school programs.

Honoring Differences
Our approach to academics is not one of a diluted curriculum, but instead a view that every child can learn, some students will just learn in a different manner.
We offer a challenging academic program that asks students to rise to national standards or above. The curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of different pupils; a broad curriculum is enriched by specialist teaching in activity based learning, physical education, music and the arts.
We ensure student success by requiring students to master subject matter through regular reviews before moving on to new material. We also carry out regular individualized assessments, several times per year, which provide a clear view of the student's material proficiency as well as growth from assessment to assessment, through each period of time.
Our academic program adjusts specific to subject matter and material, providing the 'perfect fit' model for each student, to keep challenges alive and success abundant.
